Lawrence 'Bob' Ransdell, 62, Brown County
Lawrence Robert “Bob” Ransdell, 62, passed away Tuesday afternoon, March 15, 2011, at the Columbus Health & Rehabilitation Center. He was a resident of Brown County.
Bob was born May 14, 1948, in New Castle to Lawrence L. and Olive Marie (Osburn) Ransdell. He married Janice S. Griner on Sept. 6, 1969, at the First United Methodist Church in New Castle. She survives in Brown County after 41 devoted years.
Bob was a 1966 graduate of Blue River High School in Mt. Summit and attended Ball State University. He retired in 2001 as a sheet metal worker with the Local Union 20 in Indianapolis after 32 years of service.
Bob attended the Morgantown United Methodist Church and was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Local Union 20 in Indianapolis. He enjoyed traveling in his motor home with his wife and riding his motorcycle. He was a fan of the Indianapolis Colts and volunteered to help build computers for the elderly.
Bob is survived by his loving children, Rebecca D. Ransdell of Trafalgar and Michael R. (wife, Teresa) Ransdell of Greenwood. He will be remembered by his sister, Cherie (husband, Blaine) Peterson of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and four grandchildren, Carissa Walls and Sidney Doss of Trafalgar and Jillian and Mason Ransdell of Greenwood.
The Rev. Beverly Kahle will conduct a funeral service at 11 a.m. Saturday at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry St. in Morgantown. Friends can call from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown.
